Christy Andros, Formerly Of Arverne
Christy Andros died on Friday, October 1, 1999 at Peninsula Hospital Center. He was 87 years old.
Christy was a World War II Army veteran who served in the European theater. He lived in Arverne for 30 years, moved to Lawrence, and then spent the past six years living in Inwood.
In the early years Christy managed "Daniel Reeves Grocery." Then he operated a luncheonette on Central avenue in Inwood for many years. He retired as a salesman working for Pepsico Corp.
He is survived by wife Jacquelyn (nee Davis); sister Anna Andros of Lawrence; son Peter; daughters Deborah Seraita and Joanne Karol; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is predeceased by his brother the late Peter.
Funeral service was held Monday, October 4 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Jamaica.
Interment under the direction of The Meserole Funeral Home, Inc. of Inwood, was held at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
Formerly Of Rockaway
Harvey Goldberg passed away at home on Sunday, October 3, 1999.
Formerly of Nordeck and Surfside Apartments, he lived in Bellmore.
He was a partner in the CPA firm of Joseph Beyda and Co.
Harvey is survived by his wife Lisa; children Robyn, Mandi and Justin; mother Helen; sister Jane Lueffler (brother-in-law Artie); and nephews Robbie and Bradley.
Interment was at New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale.
Votie Lee Garrett Of Inwood
Votie Lee Garrett died on Friday, October 1, 1999 in St. John’s Hospital, Far Rockaway.
Votie was the third child of Evie Mizell Tellis and Jim Tellis. She married L’Vester Garrett in 1943 and moved to Inwood in 1955, where she resided until the day of her death.
She is survived by a large family and a host of nieces and nephews.
Interment was held at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.

Grew Up In Inwood
Service for Roderick "Rod" Moore was held on Wednesday, October 6 1999.
Rod was a handsome, quiet young man who always had a smile on his face. Growing up in Inwood he attended the Lawrence District Schools. After his schooling, Rod chose a career in the maintenance and floor waxing profession.
He is survived by his parents Bertha S. Moore and Willie James Moore; daughter Tamisha McGraw; brother Eric; sisters Verlessa and Elsa; grandmother Leola McCullough; uncles Larcarnly Cross, James McCullough and Ira McCullough; great-uncle Zackery Watson; aunt Vernita Moss; godparents Pearl and Clarence Barrett; caring friend Georgia Overton; and a host of nieces and nephews that were his pride and joy.
Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, New York.
