Dignitaries Dig In At New Site

Ground breaking ceremony for a 23,000 square foot state-of-the-art professional building in Rockaway Park took place on Friday afternoon, September 24. The Sands Point Professional Arts Center, to be constructed at Beach 102 street and Rockaway Beach boulevard, is expected to be completed by Spring 2000.

Thomas and Alphonse Catanese, developers of the site, joined with Barbara J. Morris, managing agent of the property, and local officials in announcing the start of construction. The professional building will be 100 percent handicapped accessible and includes a 27,000 square foot fully illuminated parking lot, private suites, completely automated intercom system, fully computerized security surveillance system, central lobby with atrium and efficient central heating and air conditioning. The exterior will be enhanced by architecturally designed landscape.

Constructed within the Economic Development Zone (EDZ), the site is fully tax-abated. To fit the needs of those who wish to rent space, there is an owner financed buildout package.

Professionals interested in renting office space should contact Barbara J. Morris at West End Realty.
