Mario Oswalds Magat
Of Far Rockaway

Mario Oswalds Magat, a Far Rockaway resident, died on September 13, 1999 at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital.

He is survived by wife Leonila M. Magat; sons Wilfrido, Enrique and Federico; daughters Celeste, Maria Leuisa Magat Suedeand m, Soledad Magat Herbas; brother Natalio Magat; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel, Inc., of Lawrence, was held at Long Island Cremation Co., West Babylon, New York.

Teal McCullough Of Far Rockaway

Service for Teal McCullough was held on Wednesday, September 15 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Arverne.

Teal McCullough, the daughter of Virginia and Eugene Mayes, died on September 11, 1999.

Teal met David McCullough and they were united in holy matrimony in 1930. They had eight children.

In 1968, Teal moved to New York and joined the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Arverne. She served in the gospel chorus, worked as a missionary, and was a member of the Willing Workers as a teacher and assistant superintendent of the Sunday School Department. She worked until she moved to California in 1979.

Teal returned to New York and Mount Carmel Baptist Church in 1995 and remained until her death.

She is survived by sister Louise Ellison; children Charles of Far Rockaway, David, Flora Quarles of Arverne, Henry, Jennie Silver, Ronnie sr. of Far Rockaway, and Catherine McCullough; four daughters-in-law; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by son Aaron in 1997.

Interment under the direction of Chatmon and Benson Funeral Home of Inwood was held at Plain Lawn Cemetery, Hicksville, Long Island.

Walter (Poppie) McMillian
From Far Rockaway

Walter (Poppie) McMillian was born to Jeweldine McMillian and the late Walter Thompson in Kenver, Kentucky.

He died September 7, 1999.

Walter later moved to New York and began a career with his brother as a painter, under the supervision of Charles Fair, whom Walter learned to love as a father and was given their name "Paco."

Walter is survived by wife Diane McMillian; mother Jeweldine McMillian; brothers Willie of Far Rockaway and Henry; sisters Addie Bank, Doris McMillian, and Linda McMillian; sisters-in-law Iola Lee, Virginia McMillian and Brenda Taylor; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.

His brother Kennedy McMillian proceeded him in death.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home, Inc., of Inwood, was held at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville, New Jersey.
