Scrum Down News:

All Male Revue Is Friday Night;
...Season Starts This Saturday

By Rugby Bob

Rugby season is upon us once again, and the Rockaway Fisheads have a weekend extravaganza planned for the entire neighborhood. As has already been written, the first ever All Male Revue is set for Friday night (September 3) at the Rugby club (113-06 Rockaway Beach blvd.). This event which is open to the entire female community over 18, begins at 8 p.m. and features live professional entertainment, buffet style food, and drink specials. (All for a minimal entrance fee). Proceeds from this event will go to local charities and to the Fishead youth program. Ladies from all over the free world are rumored to be flocking to the Rockaways to witness this first time event. Along with the hired performers, several neighborhood gentlemen will also be dancing/entertaining to the delight of the crowd. Among the most hotly anticipated are Kevin "Fabio" McGack, Tyronne Sperling, Little John Guiterrez, Brendan "Biff" McCaffrey, Pat Connolly and Chris Zamm of Connollys, Artur Fitzpatrick and Arthur Boyland, Sean Carlton, Paul Peterson, Kevin Nelson, and Brian, Pat, Mike, and Jim Geraghty. A late request by George Johnson was denied by the Fishead panel (see photos). Ladies do not miss this one.

The season gets under way on Saturday with a new temporary home pitch. While repairs are being made to the Fishead field in Ft. Tilden, games will played on the football grounds at 150 street and Rockaway Beach blvd. (Riis Park). Game time is 1 p.m., and Rockaway will be taking on the New York Athletic Club. Come catch the action.

No one at Rockaway Rugby was surprised to read that Kevin Boyle was closely scrutinizing photos of rugby players in little to no apparel. Some things never change.

Has anyone seen the 7’s tournament on cable access t.v. Much thanks to Fishead Ed "Big Daddy" Shevlin and his crew including John Baxter, for making this possible.

Other locals turned down for All Male Revue:

Brian Dickeshied, John McCann, Kenny Collins, Kenny " Miser" Flynn, Yeddie, Jim McCann, Dennis Fulton, Mike O’Neil, Jimmy Chess, Al Trinidad, Stu Gottlieb, Maurice (surf rat), Ken Green, Bob Conti, John Briody, George Ferguson, and Kevin Coursey.

Has anyone seen Duke Foti?
