Roxbury big happening…

Thomas Joseph McEnroe was born on August 9, 1999 at 2:53 p.m. weighing seven pounds, seven ounces and 21 inches long. The proud parents are Mackie and Kalthleen McEnroe. The doting grandparents are Edna Reid and Eugene and Mary McEnroe. All are doing just fine.

Roxbury Catholic Club ha d their annual cocktail party on Sunday, August 21. It was run by Irene Hettenbach, Edith Rodman and Viola Ris and club members helped. The delicious food was donated by the Ladies Auxiliary. Jim George played the banjo and music for dancing. Gene Clifford and Mike Byrnes sang very well. Patt Sheridan was presented with a beautiful plaque in appreciation for her many loyal years and assistance to the club.

Patricia and Christopher Livingston are the proud parents of a baby girl Kathleen (Katie) Livingston who entered our world on August 17, 1999 weighing seven pounds, 15 ounces. Bridget, her sister, is very happy with new baby. The thrilled grandparents are Sandy and Sonny Livingston and Bridget Downey.

Judy Ryan and Karl Young were married at St. Thomas More’s Church in Rockaway Point on Saturday, August 14, 1999. The bride was given away by her parents Donald Ryan and Elizabeth Belford. Judy’s sister Elizabeth was the matron of honor and her twin, Margaret, was the maid of honor. The groom, Karl’s brother David, was the best man. The entire wedding party was beautiful. A great wedding reception was held at the Miller Ridge Cottage where everyone had a good time.

Binky Glennon, wife of Michael Glennon of Rockaway Beach, joined the walkathon for Avon Breast Cancer on Thursday, August 26 from Bear Mountain with a stop over on Friday and Saturday outdoors and then on to Central Park on Sunday for the closing ceremonies. Binky is the daughter-in-law of Betty Glenn of Rockaway Point. Her husband Michael is treating Binky to a professional massage from a masseuse to relieve her aches and pain.
