Blaze Injures Three
Sixty-two firefighters were on scene to battle a fire at Bay Towers on Friday, August 6.
This firefighter was injured while attempting to extinguish the fire. He was transported to Peninsula Hospital with back and neck injuries.
Tenants of Bay Towers, at 320 Beach 100 street, were given a scare on Friday, August 6 at 5:16 p.m. when the ninth floor of the highrise was overpowered with smoke from a fire in a corner apartment.
Sixty-two firefighters from 14 units responded to the fire, which resulted in three firefighters injured. One suffered burnt knees and the other two had a back and leg injury. All three were sent to Peninsula Hospital where they were treated and released.
No injuries were reported by tenants and the fire was under control at 5:36 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
