Do Or Die For Some Teams

Time is running out for the last two teams in the White Division. Tenth placed Gantry's Pub plays ninth placed Beach House this week. The Beach House has been playing noticeably better these last few weeks and will be trying their hardest to sweep Gantry's Pub and possibly weasel their way into eighth place with a little help at the top. Gantry's Pub, plagued with attendance problems all season, is a long shot to make it to post season, but it ain't over til it's over. Captain Tom, of the Federation, his team sitting pretty in first place, went on vacation for two weeks and comes back to find them floundering in a four way tie for fourth place. Aces High swept the Feds easily last week to move themselves closer to the coveted first round bye position. The Federation had best shake off the last two weeks and refocus on their match this week with Just Healy's. The Red Division saw the return of Colleen McManus this week, and what a pleasant sight for the female lacking Tap & Grill who took 3 of the 5 games
from Abbracciamento's, who, by the way, seem to have no problem picking up a new female ace every week. Tom and Steve, from Connolly's, were seen in conference trying to figure out if Abbracciamento's latest acquisition was another one of Rocky's niece's.

Over in the Blue Division, both On The Waterfront and The Beach Club swept their opponents, The Wharf Island and Mulqueen, respectively. In a much anticipated match, captain Bugsy and the Roxbury Industries Squad managed to walk away with three of the five games much to the chagrin of the Flapping Sharks. Mathematically, I am sure Bugsy knows he needs four of the last 10 games to secure a first round "bye". The second position is a battle between the Flapping Five-Second Sharks, On The Waterfront, who is taking no prisoners, and the Rugby Fisheads, who have an outside chance with a few upsets from the lower ranks. Don't count out the Yadda Yaddas who have also been plagued with attendance problems. On playoff Saturday they will probably be present and accounted for. Those Cinderella teams are always a headache...ask Bugsy.
