Swim Benefit Set
Kings Italian Restaurant and Caterin in Brooklyn is helping to sponsor the 1999 Swim For Autistic Children to benefit the Eden II School and New York Families for Autistic Children. Kings will be holding a $10.95 all you can eat pasta night to help raise funds for this organization. The event is scheduled for Wednesday August 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kings, located at 5114-5116 avenue N, Brooklyn, just a short ride over the bridge from Rockaway. All profits are being donated to charity. Those who attend the fundraiser will get to meet 43 year old long distance swimmer, Ben Kramer, who happens to be autistic, and have him personally sign his Nature photographs now available for sale at Kings. You will also be able to view videotape of his amazing rescue of a baby bald eagle.
The Swim Around Manhattan Island will be held on Thursday, August 26 at 6:30 a.m. Ben will enter the water at Battery Park and begin his swim which will last seven to 10 hours. Volunteers are needed.
