Dot on Roxbury

by Dotty Taphouse

Kim and Michael Knowles are the very proud parents of a baby girl Ashley Elizabeth Knowles who entered this world on July 15, 1999 weighing seven pounds, two ounces and 19 inches long. Ashley’s big brother Christopher is thrilled with his baby sister. The delighted grandparents are Karen and Tom Mitchell and Bonnie and Donald Knowles. Congratulations!

Rockaway Point Catholic (Century) Club had a dinner dance and drawing on July 16 in the R.P. Catholic Club. Frannie Jamin of JAMCO and his crew catered the delicious dinner. Grandma’s grandson was the band who played for dancing. Ed Flaherty and Pat Adams were the very good bartenders. Frank Murphy was the chairman and his lovely wife Margaret, co-chairperson. John Gavin, Tom Hough, Tom Crawford, etc. were helpers and with the smiling happy winners ran another very enjoyable affair.

Ladies Auxiliary of the Mayor’s Committee of Roxbury had their annual dinner on Thursday July 16 in the Roxbury Mayor’s Committee Clubhouse. Craig Livingston of Classic Cuisine catered the delectable dinner. Rita Hurley was the chairperson and with her helpers Betty Feddern, Cathy Duemig, Linda Paden, Donna Kahlan, Dorothy Farrell, Teri Rutter, etc. ran a great dinner. Elvis (look alike and sound alike) was the entertainer, DJ Bob Taphouse was the mixologist and Ronnie Farrell, the bartender for the night. Another great event.

Happy Birthday Helen Hagan-July 30; Joanne Norris-July 30; and Charlie Hettenbach-July 30.

Love ya Dot.
