Trees the Parks Department planted along Shore Front between 73 and 95 streets look dead to us.

Watch out for the huge pothole on Rockaway Beach boulevard between Beach 60-61. It’s on the eastbound side and is looking to swallow entire cars.

Officials from the Buildings Department slapped a number of violations on the Seaside buildings on Shore Front. Witnesses say bricks are about to start popping out. We hope the tax situation can get cleared up once and for all. If the building owners can’t, or won’t, maintain the buildings a dangerous situation will arise. Too many administrations and agencies have done nothing on this situation involving taxes.

Sad to say, within hours of the confirmation of John F. Kennedy jr.’s death, tasteless and insensitive jokes were making the rounds.

They were filming scenes from "Sex in the City" an HBO series at Fort Tilden this week. Some of the crew, we hear, were quite rude. What do you expect from DFDs.

Don’t forget to make your way over to Mickey Carton way (Beach 108 street) to enjoy the Irish Festival on Saturday and Sunday.

The Wave’s classified surely work. An ad was put in for an aid for an elderly person. We hear the phone didn’t stop ringing.

City Council members voted themselves a 28 percent pay hike. Of course, since most of them are not up for re-election (because of term limits) and won’t have to answer to voters they just want to grab what they can before leaving.

Was there some sort of rapprochement between the Belle Harbor Property Owners and the Belle Harbor Alliance? Leaders of these two civics were downright civil at a founders’ preview of the Rockaway Museum.

Residents in Queens, near Cunningham Park, don’t want an ice skating rink the city wants to put there. We’ve got more than a few places which would be a perfect home for such a facility. Claire Shulman? Al Stabile? Are you listening?
