Dot on Roxbury

by Dotty Taphouse

Amanda Marie Hardardt, daughter of Mari Pat and Chris Hardardt, was born on May 1, 1999 and was baptized on June 26, 1999 in Our Lady of Hope Church in Middle Village. Marybeth Cook is Amanda’s godmother and Thomas Cook is her godfather. Pat and Walter Cook and Joseph Hardardt are the very proud grandparents and her great grandmother is great grandma Kay. Her big brothers Ryan and Christopher are twins. A delightful Christening party was held in the Roxbury Barn II for family and friends to enjoy.

A surprise double wedding anniversary party was held on July 3, 1999 in Father Hession hall in honor of Donald and Meg Feerick’s 35 anniversary and Bob and Ellen (Meg’s sister) Esposito’s 40 anniversary, both on the Fourth of July. The two couples were truly surprised Franny Jamin of JAMCO catered the delicious food and the DJ had many dancing. Another happy event! Congratulations!

On Friday, July 9 the Rockaway Point Volunteer Emergency Services Inc. had a trip aboard the "Mystique" to Monmouth Park Race Track. It was a beautiful fun day with champagne and a continental breakfast. On the return trip we enjoyed an open bar, DJ and a buffet dinner. The seventh race was run in honor of the Rockaway Point Volunteer Emergency Services, where four lucky people, Eileen Baumann, Annemarie Grosinger, Mary Shaughnessy, and Barbara Mac Courtney, had their picture taken with the winner of the race "Betty’s Star" and Jockey Turner. Tom Hennessy of R.P.E.S. and Breezy Point Travel was the chairperson and with his helpers ran a great trip!

Keep cool!

Love Dot.
