Ed's Fishing Station

by Ed Kaufman

Jillian Moore and her dad fished Saturday west of the Cross Bay bridge and had six fish for the day. Jillian hooked into two nice keepers three and a half pounds each. That made their day!

Mark, Jillian’s dad, told me they really only fished for about two hours, so the fish are there but you have to put the time in. The west piece out by Breezy Point (southwest of the tall bowie), in front of the jetty, bass and blues are being taken in on bunker chunks.

The guys have told me that the Rockaway Reef is producing nice blackfish and sea bass, but there is only a one man limit on blackfish until October. It is a lot of fun and a good day out.

Thank you to all the people who called up about the battery reminder in last weeks column.
