Ronald J. Baptiste, Born In West Indies

Funeral services for Ronald J. Baptiste were held June 24 at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home, Inwood.

Born in the West Indies, Mr. Baptiste moved to England and worked for the British Rail Road. He moved to the United States in 1985. He died June 20, 1999.

He is survived by a son, brother, two sisters, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Final arrangements were entrus6ted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood, New York.

Dr. Vincent Cunningham Of Belle Harbor

Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent S. Cunningham was celebrated at St. John’s Church, Lakehurst, New Jersey.

A Belle Harbor resident, Dr. Cunningham was a physician with a private practice. He was affiliated with Peninsula and St. John’s hospitals. He was a World War II Army Major and a recipient of the Silver Star. He died June 23, 1999.

He is survived by wife Anne; daughters Ellen Cunningham, Maureen McNamee, and Barbara Cunningham.

Final arrangements were entrus6ted to the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Michele Ford, Majored In Education

Funeral services for Michele Ford were held July 1 at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home, Inwood.

Michele attended Far Rockaway High School, St. Francis College, and Queens College. She earned a Master’s degree in Education in 1996. She died June 24, 1999.

She is survived by her father Michael Ford and mother Claudia Ford; grandparents Cleophas Ford, Frederick Punsley; sisters Carmen (Mindy) Scurry and Roselle; brothers Eric, Jaheir, and Michael; and many relatives and friends.

Interment under the direction of the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood was in All Saints Cemetery, Great Neck, New York.

Mildred A. Hamilton Of Rockaway Park

Funeral services for Mildred Hamilton were held June 27 at the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach.

A Rockaway Park resident, Mildred was a secretary with Sepia Roofing and very active in her church, First Congregational.

The widow of Charles she is survived by son Stuart and daughters Stephanie Nesbitt and Charlene Brown.

Final arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home Inc. of Rockaway Beach.

Mother Edith Jackson Of Far Rockaway

Funeral services for Mother Edith Jackson were held June 29 at the First Baptist Funeral Home, Far Rockaway New York.

Edith Joy Jackson was born and attended school in Far Rockaway and was very active in her church. She died June 25, 1999.

She was predeceased by husband Walter Albert Jackson and is survived by many loved ones.

Interment under the direction of the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood was in Frost Woods Memorial Park.

Helen Kenny Of Belle Harbor

Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Kenny was scheduled for 9:45 a.m., Saturday, July 3 at St. Francis DeSales Church, Belle Harbor.

A Belle Harbor resident, coming from Brooklyn, she died July 1, 1999.

Helen, the widow of Edward, is survived by son Edward and daughter Eileen Dolan; and seven grandchildren.

Viewing was scheduled for Friday2-5, 7-10 p.m. at the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home Inc. of Rockaway Beach. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.

Henry J. Maher Of Rockaway Park

Mass of Christian Burial for Henry J. Maher was celebrated June 30 at ST. Thomas More Church, Breezy Point.

A mailer with the New York Time and Rockaway Park resident, Mr. Maher was a volunteer at Peninsula Hospital for many years. He died June 27, 1999.

The widower of Ann (nee Ward, he is survived by son Jim (and Denise), and daughter Ann Marie O’Hara. He was brother to the late John and the late Catherine Stapleton. He is survived by grandchildren Kerry Ann, Patrick, Seamus, and Laura.

Interment under the direction of the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home Inc. of Rockaway Beach was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.

Helen Miley Of Rockaway Beach

Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Miley was celebrated June 28 at St. Camillus Church, Rockaway Park.

A Rockaway Beach resident Helen died June 25, 1999.

Helen is survived by husband William and six sons, William jr., Kenneth, Robert, Michael, Christopher, and Thomas; and 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Final arrangements were entrusted tot he Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home Inc. of Rockaway Beach.

John Schmidlein Of Breezy Point

Mass of Christian Burial for John Schmidlein was celebrated June 29 at St. Thomas More Church, Breezy Point.

Retired as a District Superintendent with the NCY Department of Sanitation, Mr. Schmidlein died June 25, 1999.

He is survived by wife Kay (nee Walsh); son John and daughters Ellen, and Lucy Squeo; he is also survived by six grandchildren.

Interment under the direction of the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home Inc. of Rockaway Beach was in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
