Ed’s Fishing Station

by Ed Kaufman

Harry Prigge went fishing with his daughter Genevieve on their boat called the Sweet Genevieve. It was a very slow day and Harry was all over the bay. He finally ended up at Beach 139 street and the seawall; his daughter dropped her line and within five minutes it hooked into a 22 and a half five pound fluke. That made their day!

What a weird year! Either fish are like monsters or there are none. Reynolds Channel is just the opposite. The people of East Rockaway that fish Reynolds Channel reported hundreds of small fish 14 and a half to 15 inches. No big ones that I have heard of…all of the other fishing is about the same.

REMINDER…charge your outboard boat batteries with a dock charger because all these little drifts going for fluke causes the motor to not be able to maintain the battery. Do not run the battery switch on both. Use either one or two. Outboard motor alternators ca not maintain two batteries, especially with all the little short runs. Putting the switch on both if one battery is low will kill the other.
