Wycliffe Bright Sr. Of Far Rockaway
Funeral services for Wycliffe Bright sr. were held June 18 at Church of God of Prophecy, Jamaica.
Born in the West Indies, Mr. Bright moved arrived in the United States in 1971. He worked at Brookdale Village for 11 years. He died June 13, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, mother, two sisters, two brothers, eight sons, three daughters; and 14 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends
Interment under the direction of the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood was in Bright Family Cemetery, Jamaica, West Indies.
 
Robert Callahan Construction Worker
Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Callahan was scheduled for June 26 at Our Lady of Ostrobrama, Cutchogue, New York.
Robert was a construction worker who loved in Rockaway Park for 13 years. He died June 22, 1999.
He is survived by his mother Dorothea; sons Robert and James; daughters Jean and Mary Beth; and sister Joan McCarthy.

Mass of Christian Burial for Marion T. Crawford was celebrated June 19 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Rockaway Beach.
A Rockaway Beach resident for 35 years, coming from Brooklyn, Marion died June 17, 1999.
The widow of George, she is survived by sons George and Robert; daughters Catherine Casefi, Joann Neveroski, Rita Condoleo; sister Rita Elsasser; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Madeline D. Engel Of Rockaway Beach
Mass of Christian Burial for Madeline D. Engel was celebrated June 23 at St. Camillus Church, Rockaway Park.
An office administrator with New York Life Insurance, Madeline was a resident of Rockaway Beach. She died June 20, 1999.
The widow of Howard she is survived by nieces and nephews; she was the sister of Walter and Joseph and had was predeceased by her sister Frances Connell.

Benjamin Greig, Hospital Worker
Funeral services for Benjamin Greig were held June 17 at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home, Inwood.
Benjamin worked for 17 years at the Manhattan Psychiatric Hospital. He died June 10, 1999.
He is survived by sisters Thelma and Ann.
Final arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood, new York.
 
Carol Lorraine Knight Of Far Rockaway
Funeral services for Carol Lorraine Knight were held at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home, Inwood.
Carol attended PS 42 and JHS 180. Later she worked at Peninsula Hospital Center in the accounts receivable department. She died June 15, 1999.
She is survived by mother Jane; father Ewan; sister Carolyn; and brother Ewan jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.

John D. Morris, Born Here
John D. Morris died June 19, 1999 at the age of 81 at his home in Mendham, New Jersey.
Born in Far Rockaway and a resident of Belle Harbor before moving to New Jersey in 1959, Mr. Morris was in the insurance business.
Survivors include wife Eileen (nee McAndrews), daughter Mary and sister Alice.
Final arrangements were entrusted to the Bailey Funeral Home, Mendham, New Jersey.
 
Yvonne Elizabeth Nancis, Teacher
Funeral services for Yvonne Elizabeth Nancis were held June 21 at the Refuge Church of Christ, Far Rockaway.
Yvonne taught English and French and obtained a BS degree from the University of Manitoba. She later became a traffic and billing manager. She died June 14, 1999.
She is survived by bothers Bernard, Wilton, Hilton, John, William and Lennard; sister Marjorie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment under the direction of the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood was in All Saints Cemetery, Great Neck, New York.
 
Nicole Pelt Of Far Rockaway
Funeral services for Nicole pelt were held June 16 at the Far Rockaway Cathedral Church of God in Christ.
Nicole attended local schools and was a devoted member of her church. She died June 10, 1999.
She is survived by parents Minister James and Emma Pelt; sisters and brothers: Evelyn, Gloria, Betty, Jacques, Lisa, Joyce, Angela, and James; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

William H. "B.J." Smith Of Rockaway Beach
Mass of Christian Burial for William "B.J." Smith was scheduled for Friday, June 25 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Rockaway Beach.
A Rockaway Beach resident, William died June 22, 1999.
He is survived by mother Maureen, father William, stepfather John Duffy, and sisters Elizabeth, Danielle, and Corinne.
Interment under the direction of the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home of Rockaway Beach was scheduled to be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
 
Catherine K. Williams Worked For NYCHA
Funeral services for Catherine K. Williams were held May 28 at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home, Inwood.
Catherine worked for the Department of Traffic and later worked for the New York City Housing Authority. She became a Jehovah’s Witness in 1961 and served for 38 years. She died May 25, 1999.
Catherine is survived by husband Joseph; daughters Patricia Williams, Karen Smith, Kendyll Hill, and Denise Williams; 10 grandchildren, sons-in-law John Hill and Errol Smith; brothers Donald and William; sisters Inez and Melinda; aunt Iris Bennerman and uncle Henry Bryant; and friends Dora, Betty, and Lillian.
Interment under the direction of the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.
