No Name Chicken

Dear Editor:

The cowardice and ignorance the writer of "Thanks Are In Order" displayed is indicative of the anonymous writer's behavior throughout the past two years. Get it through your thick head (or heads) that your beloved principal, Ms. Mellone, ran the school. No parent could have possibly been responsible for the costumes the children wore (or didn't wear) at the Dance Festival. Check the facts. We did. There was an official submission of bids for tee shirts by reputable vendors back in November of 1998. The vendor who won the bid for those tee shirts apparently wasn't being used, although they had bid $4.25, a much lower price than the $5.50 parents were being charged. Why wasn't that vendor used? Why were the parents being so horrendously overcharged and ripped-off? Who was actually hired to provide those tee shirts? We can only guess.

Susan Rosen was as shocked as any other parent when she found out that there would be no tee shirts for the Dance Festival. Keep in mind, Susan Rosen never has had, or ever will have, a problem signing her name to any letter that she writes! Your modus operandi these past two years has been to use this transparent pattern of anonymity as a veil in order to put forth lies that protected the principal while attacking and defaming our honesty. Well, guess what? She's gone now and there is no one left to protect you. Maybe you should consider going with her. Once again, you have yourselves to blame. If any round of applause is in order, it is the likes of you who should take a bow! We already know who "Name
Withheld" is, but why don't you take off your mask and reveal your true
identity and motives to the rest of Rockaway. When you speak the truth, there is no reason to hide.

This should be a time to share a common vision for the good of our school and our children. Instead, you have chosen to continue to stir up more trouble. Shame on you for your mean-spirited and damaging behavior. Show us your friends and we'll tell you who your are!
