RMAC SETS FIRST CONCERT
Rockaway Music and Arts Council’s first Sunset Picnic Concert of the season will be held on Sunday, June 27, 1999 at 6 p.m. at Fort Tilden.
The opening concert of the RMAC season will be the wonderful New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players and a performance of Pinafore. This charming and delightful operetta is something to be enjoyed by all the family. Following Pinafore, the performers will present many different Gilbert and Sullivan songs as well as asking for requests from the audience.
The New York Gilbert and Sullivan players are America’s pre-eminent repertory ensemble and are new to the RMAC program. This is their first appearance in Rockaway.
All concerts are free. All you have to do is bring your beach chair, a picnic supper if you like, and sit back and enjoy a wonderful evening of music.
If you are attending by car, there is plenty of parking and if you take public transportation, the Green Bus stops right at the corner just outside the park.
The second concert will be on Sundau, July 11 and will present the Manhattan Brass Quintet.
