Ed’s Fishing Station

by Ed Kaufman

Tony Mui, fishing with Captain John Eckert on his boat the Hombre, had a great day fishing between the Crossbay bridge and the railroad bridge. Tony was high hooked on Saturday with a 22 and a half inch five pound fluke. Then, Captain John took the Hombre to bowie 20 by the seawall and Tony hooked into a 23 inch six and a half pound fluke. Captain John has not lost his touch with the big flatties.

Martin Shermer nailed a 22 and a half inch five pound fluke by bowie 11 fishing with his son-in-law Drew Allen. Five keepers all in total for the day.

Snappers seven to eight inches are starting to show along with the old family friend the blue claw crab. Poles and docks are starting to come alive with the little critters. Soon crab nets and traps will be flying everywhere to catch a dozen or more blue craw crabs for the table.
