Dot on Roxbury
Walter Joseph Cook III, son of Marybeth and Wally Cook, was born on March 21, 1999 and baptized on June 15, 1999 at St. Genevieve’s Church in Roxbury. Baby Walter’s godmother is (aunt) Noreen Collins and his godfather is (uncle) Tommy Cook. The delighted grandparents are Pat and Walter Cook and Kathleen and Jeremiah Collins. The happy great grandmother is great grandma Kay, (Hedwig Kolodziejski). A lovely Christening party was held in the Roxbury Catholic Club with drinks and delicious food catered by the Roxbury Barn II. Molly the Clown and "Blue" from "Blues Clues" entertained the children. A very enjoyable party.
The closing party of the Breezy Point Golden Age was held on Tuesday, June 15 in St. Thomas More’s hall. Frannie Jamin of JAMCO and his crew catered the delicious dinner. Bob Cass played the music for the dancers and singers. Grace McClosky (president) presented the officers with a gift for their cooperation and the Breezy Point Travel Club did the same to the officers and persons who sang the patriotic songs at the meetings. The decor and table decorations were great and Jo McMonagle was in charge of our very good local talent. John Wilmarth was the chairperson and Ann Court, Mary Fox, Kathleen Fox and other helpers assisted in making the party a big success.
Great Grandma Mattie Curley shared the celebration of her birthday of June 17 with Jenna Schmitt, her great granddaughter, on her first birthday.
Edith Rodman of Roxbury stopped by Roddy’s Deck for some crabs and found a surprise party in her honor. Four generations of Edith’s family plus friends celebrated her (early) 80 birthday with a great afternoon of food and fun.
Luke and Harry Sheridan are baby Maggee Rose Sheridan’s brothers.
