Many people went away satisfied customers after meeting with DEP officials about their water bills. The meeting was held by the Rockaway Park Association.

On June 30 there will be two meeting held at Beach Channel High School regarding the filling of pits in Jamaica bay with dredged material from Newark Bay. The meetings are from 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. The question is: why are we getting Jersey toxics? Attend the meetings if you want to let the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers know that you demand a healthy and safe environment in Rockaway.

 After a two year reign of controversy Principal Phyllis Mellone of PS 114 is leaving. We hear she’s headed back to District 21. Good luck to her successor.

Hey, Hillary---forget Martha’s Vineyard. If you want to show you’re in a New York state of mind come and vacation in Rockaway. You might want to have a look at the Arverne Renewal Area while you’re at it. (It might be used as a campaign issue).

District Attorney Brown will be a guest at he Regular Democratic Club at the new headquarters, 104-02 Rockaway Beach boulevard on Wednesday June 28 at 8 p.m. And the new club has air conditioning!

 New banners on Shore Front parkway welcome visitors to Rockaway.

That’s old news. A report on Channel 7 was about a restaurant that delivered to the beach when people call in on cell phones. Steve Good of the Beach Club had been doing that for years---though not this year.

 Jeopardy---for $500 in the category Peninsula---the Ramones had a song about a beach which was also a peninsula. Answer: what is Rockaway.
