Triple Shooting Solved
Rohan Fung was arrested last week and charged with the murder of James Powell that took place during a shooting incident connected to a foiled robbery attempt on Sunday, May 23.
Powell, 17, was shot in the head and considered to be the most critically injured out of the three victims/suspects involved in the shooting spree. All three were transported to area hospitals.
Timothy Holliday and Dawnna Weaver were both arrested on Monday, May 24 in connection with the triple shooting that occurred last month in the middle of a Sunday afternoon at a private home located at 356 Beach 70 street.
According to police, a call for assistance came in at 1:44 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the Beach 70 street location where, upon their arrival, they found teenage males shot inside the home. Devon Molynex, 18, told police that he was shot through the front door in the stomach.
Upon searching the house, a second shooting victim, Powell, 17, was found shot in the head. A third person, who had also been shot, reportedly fled the scene in a Cadillac heading west. Police found Rohan Fung soon after, still in the Cadillac, with gunshot wounds to his knee and stomach. Fung, a suspect in the shootings, was arrested last week after Powell died. He has been charged with murder 2, assault, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police suspect that the shootings occurred after a foiled robbery attempt. Holliday and Weaver are not believed to have been involved in the shooting but have both been charged with robbery and assault.
This marks the second homicide in the 100th Precinct this year after more than 18 months with no such incidents.
