Ed’s Fishing Station

by Ed Kaufman

Fishing is very spotty. Fluke, bluefish, bass, and weakfish have all slowed down on the bite. Must be the heat…

Some of the sharp fishermen are still catching strippers by the Gil Hodges (Marine Park) bridge on incoming tide at the south main stanchion of the bridge facing the coast guard station. Anchor the boat 10 feet from the bridge and drop the bunker bait right down buy the wood of the bridge. It is like magic! They are laying right there and they jump right on.

Railroad trestle is still producing some nice bass; second opening from the southside using clams for bait. Fluke fishing is just a long day out, put in the time and you’ll come home with the filets.
