Ed’s Fishing Station

This weekend may be the start of something big-big fluke that is. And Coney Island is the place you want to be.

Joe Supple jr. and his dad big Joe fished in front of the Coney Island pier. Joe said "west of the bowie in front of the pier is the hotspot" drifting spearing and squid. Little Joe hooked a six and a half pound fluke weighed in at Ed’s.

At the time the fish was being weighed, another customer walked in; Chuck Collins and his sons and they said "where did you get that fish?". Joe, of course, told him and, you guessed it, Chuck headed straight for the pier. Later that day, Chuck Collins and his sons Chucky and Chris and a friend, Jon Candelara, 12 years old, caught a nine pound fluke. Jon Candelara caught the big flatty also weighed in at Ed’s. All were happy. The two big fish were the only keepers for the day.

Joe Supple and his son Joe jr. also fish with us on the Pooka 6 for blackfish and little Joe can hold his own with the big tougs (blackfish).
