Ed’s Fishing Station

by Ed Kaufman

Fluke on the rise! Robert Tucker caught a nice 22 inch fluke Thursday off the shore by Beach Channel High School. Bob said there was plenty of weak fish action going on with the normal bluefish run.

Anand Mahader caught a nice 21 inch fluke off the shore of Beach 67 street on the bayside. Looks like we’re in for a great fluke season.

Steven Interbantola and his son Jimmy and friends had a good day. Jimmy landed a nice 20 inch fluke on Sunday. Steve said it was a slow pick east side of the railroad trestle, using spearing for bait.

Weak fisherman are having a field day-nice fish on sand worms from Beach 67 street down towards Inwood. Fish to 22 inches, average 18, are being caught. Remember weak fish have to be 16 inches and six per man per day.

Striped bass trolling still excellent using shad umbrella rigs almost anywhere in the bay.
