A lovers' quarrel turned deadly this week when a Rockaway Beach woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend with a steak knife, police say. The victim, identified by police as Anthony Nicholas, 43, was allegedly stabbed several times in his chest by his longtime girlfriend Natasha Brown, 35, inside their bungalow home at 300 Beach 88 Street on Saturday afternoon, May 10.

Shown is a photo of the first of the New York City Carnegie Libraries to open in Queens. The one-story brick building located in Far Rockaway was dedicated in August 1904 and was destroyed by fire in 1962. A replacement branch was built in 1967 and has stood on the same site since.

Dear Editor, The only way to change the landscape of Beach 116 Street is for the R7A. East of Beach 116 Street and West of Beach 115 Street contain the six largest SRO hotels in Rockaway Park. These buildings contain 209 units. There are 14 other SRO buildings from Beach 108 Street to Beach 116 Street, which contain 230 SRO units.

Dear Editor, I am a relative newcomer to the Rockaways, I moved here in the summer of 2006. I do not own a car and am dependent on public transportation. Anna Reed, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died May 13. Reed, a Craft Specialist, was born in Manhattan. She was a member of the Young at Heart Club and Hammels Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Rivera; brother, Joseph Frieda; and sisters, Rose Viviano and Lillian Raffaelo.
