Parks Department Sport Mobile To Visit Rockaway

The Sport Mobile, a van containing lots of equipment for use by local youth, will be visiting Rockaway and a number of other local communities in the coming week.

The van will be at the Rockaway Playground, located at Beach 84 Street and Shore Front Parkway on July 6, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Over the past six years the mobile unit program has become one of the most popular programs run by the city of New York Parks and Recreation.

The mobile unit provides activities including games, arts and crafts, and sports for children of all ages.

Included in Park’s Department Sports Mobile program are such activities as knock hockey, checkers, chess, soccer, lacrosse, kick ball, jump rope and skating.

Children of all ages are invited.
