Congratulations to Ryan Sheridan who received a well deserved award for having the second fastest time of 4:32 in a mile race. The South Huntington Athletic Director Jim Wright gave Ryan the award at an awards ceremony at Ryan's school, Walt Whitman High School. The international race was held in Landover, Maryland and earned Ryan an All-American title.

The 2004 Communion class celebrated the sacrament on May 8, 2004. This years class includes; Elora Barbosa, Liam Gresser, Shyanne Hartman, Colleen McCauley, Daniel Reid, William Smith, and Joseph Stevens.

The Mayor's Committee is hosting a Fundraiser on Saturday, May 29, 2004 from 1-6 p.m. The proceeds will be going to the Fallen Heroes Fund, assisting the families of U.S. Soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice. $20 per person, and $10 goes directly to the fund. Also don't forget the Memorial Day Ceremony at the ball field on Monday @ 11 a.m.

The Rockaway Relay for Life is on June 5 at Beach Channel High School. The Relay is the American Cancer Society's fundraiser to fight cancer. Both Jeannine Hartman and myself are involved with the Relay. Please feel free to stop by that night if you want to see what it is all about.
