Far Rockaway High School Tours The N.Y. Senate

Students at Far Rockaway High School arrived at the steps of the New York State Senate and were greeted by Senator Serphin Maltese and Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer. After a pizza lunch, the students toured the New York State Museum where they saw artifacts from the September 11 attack. They also viewed old fire engines and trains from New York’s past. After the museum tour, the students were taken to the State Capitol where they viewed the chambers, in which the Senators debate and vote on bills to become law. Before heading home from Albany, the Far Rockaway students had their picture taken with Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer and Senator Malcolm Smith on the steps of the New York State Capitol Building.
