BCHS Boat Ramp Doubled As Dump

This wrecked automobile, note chrome bumper on the right, and other interesting items were pulled from the water in front of the Beach Channel High School boat ramp on Wednesday afternoon. Work at the ramp, which was closed for all of last year, has boaters hoping for a re-opening sometime soon.

This grime-covered trailer was pulled from the water – tires and all – but it was missing its hitch.
Workers used a large crane to remove years of debris that was recently discovered by divers, who were assessing the condition of the ramp from below the waterline as part of the repair effort.

A construction worker applies a concrete patch to cover exposed reinforcement bar in the mouth of the boat ramp.
