Beach Channel Baseball Remains Number One

By Henrick Karoliszyn

After postponing their first five games, the Beach Channel Men’s Varsity Baseball Team has began the season with a strong start, remaining number one in the Queens South Division, holding a 3-1 record so far.  Beating out the Campus Magnet Bulldogs in a two game series, 11-1 and 8-3 and shutting out the Robert F. Wagner Panthers last Tuesday, the Dolphins have showed their offensive dominance in each of their wins.

Strong hitting and leadership has come from many players, including junior and returning player, Ernie Reyes, who has already had four hits and five RBIs, while having a stolen base in the each of the first four games.  As the head coach of the Dolphins, Thomas Kazalski said, "He’s a great player."

Other leaders on the team include senior, Gregory Perdriel, who has had four hits, three RBIs and two stolen bases and sophomore, Benajami Deleon, who has had five hits, seven RBIs and a stolen base.  Junior Andrew Chaluisant has also been an outstanding player having four hits, two RBIs and seven stolen bases so far.
