As the season for proms and graduations grows closer, students and parents attended a fashion showcase at the Beach Club on April 15. The show, hosted by Bridal Creations by LaVida, featured prom and graduation fashions as well as wedding and sweet sixteen dresses.

Graduating seniors from Far Rockaway High School and Beach Channel High School were named to receive prom dresses donated by LaVida. Shanique Nelson (FRHS) and Gina Giles (BCHS) were the lucky winners.

One of the many sweet sixteen dresses shown as the theme was “Pretty in Pink.”

"I told the schools I’ll donate a prom dress to a deserving girl," LaVida said. "Any prom dress in the store."

The night had a Far Rockaway theme as all the models and singer Malisha Glover (who performed Mariah Carey’s "Hero") were from Far Rockaway. Also, merchants on Beach 20th Street came together and provided hair, makeup and flowers for the show.

LaVida donated prom dresses to two deserving young women from the area’s high schools.

Malisha Glover entertained the audience during the show. She performed her version of Mariah Carey’s hit “Hero”.
“Graduation is simple and elegant,” LaVida told everyone. This model, wearing a green dress without many accessories shows just that.
