Carpenters Recruiting Apprentices

The New York City District Coun cil of Carpenters will open apprentice recruitment on April 19 for twenty carpenters; two cabinet makers; two linoleum, resilient tile and carpet layers; and two millwrights.

Applicants who want to become apprentices in any of those fields are required to be at least 17 years old; have a high school or GED diploma; be a United States citizen or legally able to work in the U.S.; and take a physical examination and drug test at the council’s expense.

To obtain an application, individuals must complete an apprenticeship lottery form with their name and address. The forms will be available at the Carpenter’s Labor Technical College administration office located at 395 Hud son Street in Manhattan, from 9 a.m. to noon, from April 19 to April 23.
