Rockaway Line Advocates Strategy

The Rockaway Subcommittee of the Regional Rail Working Group will meet on Monday, April 12 at the Richmond Hill Branch Library at 6 p.m. The meeting is in support of direct rail service from Rock away to Manhattan. The group will prepare a mission statement, letters to public officials and civic associations requesting appointments and elect officers.

George Haikalis, a veteran civil engineer and developer of the Apple Corridor plan to reopen to old Rockaway line is set to speak. Herb Gormley of the Belle Harbor Property Owners and Norman Silverman of the Bayswater Civic Association will also be present.

All residents who favor better transit are asked to attend this short meeting.
