Queens Museum of Art Call for Entries: Queens International 2004 November 7, 2004 – February 20, 2005. Thedeadline is May 14, 2004 (postmark). QMA is searching for works by artists of all media who live and/or work in the borough of Queens, long-term residents and new-comers alike. Contact QMA for submission details. They are online at: www.queensmuseum.org. An Adult and Child Art Workshop is being offered on April 18, 2004 from11 to 2pm at Ft. Tilden, Building T149. The workshop is being conducted by Barbara (Basia) Mosinski. Mosinski, MFA and MAAT Candidate, is a visiting artist living in Belle Harbor until the middle of May. She is working with Dr. Jack Miller and The Phoenix Project, a 12-week process for healing grief and loss. Basia’s work in New York is supervised by Dr. Robert Wolf, NCPsyA, ATR and in Chicago by Deb Behnke, ATR, LCPC. Mosinski is on the faculty of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago as well as an Academic Advisor. Her clinical work has included the Marjorie Kovler Cen ter, International Faces, Chicago and The Institute for Therapy through the Arts, Evanston, Illinois. Mosinski states: "Art is a non-verbal language that can bring new awareness and insight. 85this exploratory workshop85will have you experience your adult & child relationship in new ways. Through a series of art exercises you will each have the opportunity to listen to each other’s non-verbal communication with your eyes" Adult & child relationships come in many forms. Parent and child, aunt/uncle and niece/ nephew, grandparent and grandchild, friends, neighbors, big brother/big sister and younger brother/younger sister. Whatever the nature of your adult & child relationship, com munication is part of the dynamics. This workshop is designed to stimulate relating: through the language of art. This is meant to be an opportunity to play, explore and observe. This art workshop is open to pairs: one adult and one child (six years and over). There is a $30 fee. Art materials will be provided.
