The Ramchatesingh boys have always been competitive. They play almost any sport they come across just for fun, but found a particular interest in tennis. All members of the USTA (United States Tennis Association) and NYJTL (New York Junior Tennis League), they also share a common interest in music instilled in them through St. Camillus School in Rockaway Beach, where they are alumni.

Randall Ramchatesingh is a 15-year-old sophomore at St. Francis Prep HS in Fresh Meadows, Queens. He earned a spot on the First Doubles team for Prep’s Varsity Tennis team last season and aspires to earn a singles spot within the next year. He has won three of the last four RSA Rock Tourney Tennis Championships and has participated in the Big Apple Games, the PAL, and NYJTL for tennis over the past five years, winning two MVP awards as well as Most Helpful and Most Dedicated Player. He also hopes to earn a regional ranking in the USTA Eastern circuit this upcoming calendar year. His other hobby is music. Performing primarily percussion, Randy was a member of the St. Camillus Marching Band under the direction of Lorraine Livingston and Monsignor William F. Burke for several years.

Timothy Ramchatesingh is currently a junior at Beach Channel HS. He has shined in the First Singles slot for the Boys’ Tennis team as they tied for first place last season and aspires to lead his team towards another championship this year. He enjoys science and art and is currently learning to play the guitar. A member of the 100th Precinct Explorers Program, Timothy has been very active in the community through service. He has been awarded MVP and Best Sportsmanship of the NYJTL’s Beach Channel Site over the past few years and was Beach Channel’s Most Dedicated Player for 2003.

Bernard Ramchatesingh is currently a Sport Management Major and Business Minor at St. John’s University where he will graduate in May of this year. He has coached tennis through the NYJTL and PAL since 1999. As Vice President of the Sport Management Club at St. John’s, he has been awarded the 2003 Marianne Noonan Award for Excellence in Sport Management. His academics have carried him through to work for the United States Tennis Association and the US Open in the past two years. He graduated from St. Francis Prep HS earning recognition from Who’s Who Among American High School Students his junior and senior year. There, he was a member of the marching band as well as at St. Camillus School in Rockaway Beach, where he learned to play percussion 14 years ago. He is currently a member of the St. John’s University Jazz Ensemble and the Red Storm Pep Band. His main goal at the moment is to go to NYU for Post-Graduate work in Sport Business. For now, he will be interning with the New York Mets for the 2004 Season.
