Time To Get Aboard For Community Cruise

The tickets for this year’s Annual Rockaway Community Cruise are going fast! The Chamber of Commerce and the 100 Precinct Community Council, the organizations sponsoring the yearly cruise, urge residents to join the fun on Thursday, July 10 on board The Mystique, sailing from Riis Landing and bound for some exotic sights.

"Politics and complaints are all put aside for the evening - just lots of ‘under the stars’ dancing, fun and food, along with lots of breathtaking scenery," says the chamber’s executive assistant Liz Sulik. "It doesn’t get much better than this!"

Departure is from Riis Landing at 7 p.m. sharp; boarding begins at 6:30 p.m. The Mystique cruises underneath the Verrazano Bridge and into New York Harbor, around the Statue of Liberty and back home at 11:00 p.m.

"This is a perfect occasion to experience New York City’s waterways. Singles, couples or groups can enjoy a fantastic evening out with friends and other community members," Sulik adds.

Tickets are only $60.00 per person and there is room for 250 people.

A cash bar will be available.

Tickets are on sale at West End Realty (209 Beach 116 Street), the Chamber of Commerce of the Rockaways (253 Beach 116 Street) and from Sandee Doremus (718-318-6411). "Don’t wait until the last minute! Come join in one of most enjoyable events of the Rockaway summer season sponsored by the 100 Precinct Community Council," Sulik says.

All proceeds go towards the August 5 Fireworks Display for National Night Out Against Crime.
