Portion Of Shore Front Parkway Renamed For Local Bar Owner ‘Jack’ Fitzgerald
A portion of Shore Front Parkway at Beach 108 Street was renamed last Saturday in honor of John “Jack” Fitzgerald, the owner for Fitzgerald’s Bar, which once stood on that corner. Pictured, City Councilman Joe Addabbo speaks about Fitzgerald’s impact on Rockaway.

The new sign that stands at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 108 Street. The bar was at that location for more than 80 years.
A large crowd turned out on a hot and sunny day for the service.

Police officers from the 100 Precinct at the service stand in front of the new condos that have recently been built at the site.
Many relatives attended the services, including brothers, children and grandchildren of Fitzgerald.
