Dedication Ceremony Held

The St. Edmund Chamber Ensemble recently joined forces with three members of the Nazareth High School band under the direction of St. Edmund’s band director John Malazzo to perform at the junction of East 31 Street between Avenue N and Kings Highway. The dedication ceremony, sponsored by Fraser Park Civic Association, honored Marine Major Eugene McCarthy, a helicopter pilot, who died in the line of duty during the Gulf War. The area is referred to as Marine Major Eugene McCarthy Way. The grounds are maintained by the Rolling Thunder Association. The St. Edmund Prep students are Linda Perez, Eric Roome, Crystal Mestres, Matthew Turner, Caitlin Gregg, Anthony LoBianco, Jennifer Salome, Chris Barreto, and Joey Trincilla. The Nazareth High School students are Cathy Adams, Cleva Conway, and Leah Williams. The students are pictured with John Malazzo at the dedication ceremony. Photo by Joan Kowkabany.
