Ferry Bridges Rockaway And Manhattan

Starting this weekend, Rockaway residents destined for Manhattan have a new travel option—the ferry from Riis Landing.
The Manhattan-bound boat departs at 10:15 a.m. and reaches the South Street Seaport by about 11:30 a.m. The return ferry leaves the Seaport at 5:15 p.m., with another departing East 34 Street a half hour later.
The ferry will also bring Manhattan beachgoers to the Gateway National Recreation Area.
One-way fare is $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $6.50 for children. The service runs through Labor Day. Call NY Waterway at 1-800-533-3779 for more information.
