Torres Graduates From Huskers To Cardozo

Head coach Lewis Decicco, Assistant head coach Walter Glenn, Rosemarie Salinger, mother and Adam Torres.

Another member of the Far Rock Huskers has made it to Cardozo High School. Thanks to the phenomenal dedication of Greg Carter of the Rockaway Sports Association, Adam Torres will pursue his academic studies and be a part of the Cardozo Judges Lacrosse team. Adam has been with the Huskers for the past three years. Throughout this period of time, he has had the chance to compete in a sport not traditionally geared towards the children in the Far Rockaway area.

On many occasions, the team was afforded the opportunity to travel to other states for competitions such as Marlyland, where Adam made the winning goal against Pimlico, one of Baltimore’s top middle schools. They also visited many colleges, such as Yale and Hofstra to view the sport. While doing so, Adam learned the importance of commitment, good sportsmanship, and more importantly, maintained his grades.
