Greenpoint Bank Gives Housing Grants

State Senator Malcolm A. Smith today announced that Greenpoint Bank is making available fifteen $10,000 grants to aid non-profit organizations that are working to provide affordable homeownership opportunities for low and moderate-income families. Grant applications for the funds are due by September 20th, and the Senator urged local organizations to look into these important funding opportunities.

"Through these grants, GreenPoint Bank is seeking to recognize New Yorkers realize the dream of owning their own home," said Smith. "I commend GreenPoint Bank for its commitment to our communities, and to our ongoing efforts to expand the supply of affordable housing in the metropolitan area."

The grants are available to non-profit organizations in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester. For further information, or to obtain an application package, interested groups are encourages to contact Evan Reeder in Senator Smith’s district office at 718-291-9097.
