for larger version       Local Scholarship Winners Announced The New York Lottery recently announced the winners of the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Scholarships. Three students at Rockaway schools were awarded: Daniel J. Baum, Yeshiva of Far Rockaway, Okyro C. Collazo, Beach Channel High School, and Paul V. Saby, Far Rockaway High School. The LOT scholarships recognize high school seniors with demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to community service. Each recipient will receive a $4,000 scholarship, paid annually in $1,000 increments and applied toward tuition costs at an accredited New York college, university, community college or trade school. Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarships were launched three years ago. This year, 1,198 scholarships are being awarded statewide. The awards represent a commitment of more than $4.7 million by the New York Lottery.
