Breezy Point Par-Tee News

By Doris Neimeth

It was "A Foggy Day in London Town"  (Riis Park) on Thursday, May 30th, for ParTee's 5th week of the season. Despite the low ceiling and moisture in the air, thirty-six women braved the elements in the early hours of the morning.

Our lead scorers for the day were Peggy Ansbro (back from her winter retreat in Sturat, Fl.) and Evelyn Gannon with a 63 and each having 2 birdies. Peg scored on hole 1 & 15 and Evelyn scored on hole 6 & 17. Pat Disch followed right behind with a score of 64 with 2 birdies on hole 7 & 14.

Barbara Caramelli scored 66 with a birdie on hole 5. Doris Neimeth just back from Melbourne, Fl., scored 67.  Peggy Hurley with a 69 and a birdie on 9. Good going Peg after heart surgery this past winter. Chip-ins credited to the following; Ann Prior hole 12 (chip- in birdie) Joan Cawley 11 & 16, Marie Moloney 13 and Mildred Seligman (chip-in birdie) 18. Two of our other gals, Marge Driscoll and Terry Gearity had birdies. Marge scored on 2 and Terry on 5.

Scoring in the 70's were: Pat Wheeler 70, Terry Gearity 71, Ann Prior 72, Teresa Beam 72, Lil Keim 74, Mildred Seligman 76, Bernice Carroll 77, Kay Miller 78 and Ann Powers 78. A 79 score was for the following; Marilyn Higgins, Vera Lynch, Evie McVeigh and Janis Murphy.

Welcome back to our Florida snowbirds. Mark your calendar now for July 11th, Guys and Dolls Tournament. Note: July 4th, no game.
