Meetings

If you need help from drugs, alcohol, gambling, depression, anxiety, smoking, (or if you just need a friend), join Pastor Garry Patrylo and others for refreshments, fellowship and a half hour talk of encouragement at the House On The Rock Church. Meetings are held every Monday at 8 p.m. The location is 88-08 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, second floor. All are welcome.

The New York City Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is offering a coping support group to members of the Chapter at Seagirt House, 1915 Seagirt Blvd., Far Rockaway, on March 5, 1-3:30 p.m. For more info contact NMSS-NYC Chapter, 30 West 26 Street, New York, NY 10010.

Rockaway Beach Civic Association will feature guest speaker, Dina Kerasiotof, RN.PSY.D, from Project Liberty. The second guest speaker will be Rachael Williams, from the Joseph Addabbo Family Health Center, discussing many programs available for those with/without medical insurance. If you are looking for answers come to the American Legion Hall, Beach 92nd St. and the Freeway at 8 p.m., on Tuesday March 5th.

The 3rd Rockaway Park Hadassah Spa Day on Tuesday, March 12 the Beach Club at Noon. Features spa luncheon, tai chi exercise, and lecture on nutrition and self-healing.

The Bereavement Support Group at St. Francis de Sales Church would like the Rockaway community to know they are conducting support group sessions on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. The St. Francis de Sales Rectory, 129-16 Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Everyone is welcome.

The Deerfield Association meetings are held the last Monday of every month at 327 Beach 19 Street. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m.

The Rockaway Beach Civic Association holds its meetings at 8 p.m., at the American Legion Hall on Beach 92 Street and the Freeway, on the first Tuesday of March, May and June.

The Arverne Civic Association meets every second Monday of the month, 8 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church, 330 Beach 67 Street.

The Community Board 14 meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month, 7:45 p.m., at the American Legion Hall on Beach 92 Street.

The Floyd Bennett Senior Squadron meets the first Wednesday of the month at the NYPD Aviation Unit Training Room, and on the third Wednesday of the month at the Armed Forces Reserve Center. Both buildings are located in Floyd Bennett Field.

Lebanon Lodge #54, Ancient Free and Accepted Prince Hall Masons meet every first and third Mondays of every month at 8 p.m., 107-51 Guy Brewer Boulevard.

Men’s Club of West End Temple holds discussions of Portions of the Torah on the First Thursday of every month at 7:45 p.m.

Lieutenant Bernard H. Weiner, Post 258 Jewish War Veterans has meetings the first and third Sunday monthly at the Temple Beth El Little Synagogue, Rockaway Beach Boulevard and 122 Street. Veterans are welcome.

The NAACP general meetings will be held every third Thursday of the month at J.H.S. 198, located at 365 Beach 56 Street. The meetings are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The Rockaway Chess Club will meet on Sundays, from 1-3 p.m., in Wendy’s backroom, located at 113-20 Beach Channel Drive. Chess sets, boards and clocks should be brought. All levels are encouraged to attend.

Boy Scouts of America, Troop 81, boys ages 11-18, meet every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales.

Far Rockaway Lions Club meets every third Monday of every month at 8 p.m. at Peninsula Hospital Center in the Doctor’s Boardroom on the first floor.

Frank Avenue Civic Association of Edgemere meets the third Thursday of every month at 8 p.m. in the Tessier Learning Center in St. Gertrude’s Church, 336 Beach 38 Street.

The 100 Precinct Community Council meeting will be held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at Knights of Columbus Hall, 333 Beach 90 Street at 7:30 p.m. Community-police dialogue; meet your local police officers; and share your concerns or problems.

101 Precinct Community Council meets monthly on the third Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. at 1612 Mott Avenue.

Rotary Club of the Rockaways meets every Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. at Snug Harbour Restaurant, located on Rockaway Beach Boulevard at Beach 108 Street.

American Legion Post 272, 301 Beach 92 Street, meets every first and third Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Bingo every Thursday at 7 p.m. with cash prizes. Snack bar and parking available. Bar, catering, hall, and meeting rooms are available for your functions.

Knights of Columbus Rockaway Council 2672 hold its member meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 8:15 p.m. Columbiettes of Rockaway Council 2672 hold their meetings on the second Wednesday of each month, 7:30 p.m., at 330 Beach 90 Street.

La Leche League of Queens South holds its meetings on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 12 p.m. at Visiting Nurse Service of New York, 86-09 Rockaway Beach Boulevard.

Small group discussions are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Francis de Sales Rectory, 129-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd. For further details contact the St. Francis de Sales Rectory.

Come one, come all, you are invited to join the St. Rose of Lima Young at Heart Club. The only requirement is you must be 55 or older. Meetings are on Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. in the Saint Rose of Lima Auditorium.
