for larger version       Youth ‘Viciously Assaulted’ on West End An eighteen-year-old Rockaway Park youth, who was "Viciously and brutally beaten" on Beach 129 Street and Newport Avenue last Saturday night by a group of four boys that have been described by the victim’s father as "a wolf pack" out looking for trouble, remains in stable condition with kidney failure at Peninsula Hospital Center. According to Pat McNulty, his son, Thomas, came home from work at John F. Kennedy Airport’s Terminal One last Friday night about 10:30 p.m. and, shortly thereafter, went to the Beach 129 Street shopping area. Shortly after 11 p.m., the older McNulty got a phone call telling him that his son had been assaulted and was lying on the street. "That was one of the most frightening experiences of my life," he told The Wave. McNulty rushed to the scene and found his son, bloody and beaten, lying on Newport Avenue. He called 911 and police and EMS responded. Thomas was taken to PHC, where he suffered kidney failure as a result of his injuries. Police sources at the 100 Precinct say that McNulty was beaten by a group of four boys, one of them wielding a garbage can. "All of the kids are known by the victim," one police official said. "They will all be picked up." Pat McNulty says that they were all arrested on Sunday and charged with Assault Two, but police could not substantiate that fact. According to the elder McNulty, all of the kids who assaulted his son were at a "keg party" on the beach earlier in the night. "My son had a cell phone and a gold chain, but I think that they were just a wolf pack looking for somebody to beat up," he says. "They kicked and stomped him and chased him down the block." Detective Curran, who has the case, was not available for comment prior to publication.
