All are welcome. "Sistas Reachin’ Out", a grass root Community Based Organization (CBO) is conducting an essay contest for youth between the ages of 12-16 from the Far Rockaway area. The primary purpose of the essay contest is to offer youth an opportunity to speak their mind in a structured and public forum. It is also an opportunity for young people to demonstrate their abilities and vision in improving our communities. The topic of the essay is: "What issues affect you and your family in the community?" Using the principles of Kwanzaa, you must tell how you would correct the problem. The Farmers’ Market reopened for another season in July, and the season will run until November 17, 2001.
