Pataki Comes To Rockaway

      New York State Governor George Pataki arrived in the Rockaway area to tour the crash site of American Airlines flight 587, a day after the horrific event. As the chopper landed on Beach Channel Drive, between 127 and 128 Street, Pataki was greeted by a number of residents from the community, media representatives and law enforcement officials.

Need Crash Assistance?
      The Wave has received many telephone calls, letters and E-mails offering help to those who were devastated by the crash of Flight 587 into the Belle Harbor community. Among those who have offered help are the Saks Fifth Avenue department store and many individuals in the tri-state area. Those in need of assistance in the form of clothing, toys, and other necessities of life should contact The Wave at 634-4000 and this paper will facilitate the assistance needed.
