Ski Jet Accident Under Bridge

On Wednesday, June 27, two young women were severely injured when they were jet skiing near the Cross Bay Bridge. They apparently lost control and slammed head-on into one of the columns underneath the bridge. Members of 2444 Harbor Patrol Unit acted quickly to save the women, whom were later transported to a nearby hospital. Heroes of the 2444 Harbor Unit: Officers Kevin Gallagher, Manuel Natera and Bob McCabe. Theodore Edwards, an employee of Bridge Bait and Tackle, witnessed the accident. "It all happened so fast. The women were in pretty bad shape, and one of them just kept saying my legs, my legs!"
