Rey Clarke Announces Candidacy for City Council

On Sunday, April 22, in front of 1450 members of the Elim International Fellowship located at 20 Madison Street, Brooklyn, New York, Rey Clarke announced his candidacy for City Council in District 31.

Rey arrived in the Rockaways 25 years ago from the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn. From the time of his arrival, he has been actively involved in the issues of the Rockaways.

Rey Clarke’s community track record is very extensive. Rey has conducted a voter registration drive and established a Boy Scout Troop for the people in the Hammels Houses. Later, after moving to Bayswater, he was a board member of the civic association and a volunteer community crime fighter. Rey Clarke also served as PTA President at schools P.S. 104 and Far Rockaway High School.

Rey Clarke, as Councilman, plans to "Take Giant Steps With Visions Of The Future." He wants to eliminate certain taxes that stifle economic growth, build community development zones in destitute areas, eliminate welfare through business incentives, eliminate housing shortages, and monitor agencies providing services to the aging.
