Beach Volleyball League Prepares For 2001 Season
By Joseph McGivney

Preparations for the Summer 2001 Beach Volleyball season are underway. After many years of dedicated service Nancy Gentile has stepped down as Executive Director of the league and will settle into a life of retirement and luxury. A committee of long time members has been formed and they will carry the torch in leading the league into the new millennium.

The first order of business is to meet and find out which teams will be returning and which will not. Additionally, this is the time for all new individuals and teams to sign up for this season, which will start around

Memorial Day. It may seem a little cold to be thinking about beach volleyball but opening day will arrive quickly and there is much to be done beforehand.

All players are welcome to attend our first meeting at the Irish Circle Restaurant in Rockaway on Thursday, 3/8 at 7:30 p.m. Captains should bring a deposit of $50 per team to insure a spot in the league.

Items on the agenda include schedules, fees, committees, divisions, referees, bar assignments, Awards Party, and other important issues.

If you have any questions before the meeting please call Patty Moule at 212-604-7087.
